In the evening of April 23, the month of Ramadan started around the world. This important date has the celebration of community, fasting and prayers. This year, regarding the actual condition of COVID-19, is going to be totally different. In Columbia, the Islamic Center of Central Missouri is closed for activities to keep its community safe. Things like iftar, the meal after sunset, or tarawih, a communal prayer only done during Ramadan, are going to be done from their homes and not from the mosque how it is common. Members are already planning Zoom and WhatsApp meetings to get a little feeling of how is enjoying Ramadan with the community.
